Trading funds are established under the Government Trading Funds Act 1973. It's not clear whether they are government departments (and hence subject to FOIA) in their own right, or merely part of their parent departments. In any case, they include:
- Central Office of Information (SI 1991/857)
- Land Registry (SI 1993/938, controlled by the Chief Land Registrar)
- Ordnance Survey (SI 1999/965)
- Royal Mint (s1 of the Act)
- Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (SI 1991/773, amended by SI 2003/942)
- Buying Solutions (SI 1991/875, amended by SI 2001/922 and SI 2009/647)
- Companies House (SI 1991/1795)
- Patent Office (SI 1991/1796)
- Fire Service College (SI 1992/640)
