Decision Summary

  • Case Ref: FS50077719
  • Date: 21/07/2008
  • Public Authority: Cabinet Office
  • Summary: The complainant asked the public authority for records of meetings between Tony Blair and other world leaders in the Azores and Crawford, Texas in 2003. The public authority claimed that a substantial amount of information about the meetings was already in the public domain, and withheld the requested information as exempt under sections 27(1)(a), 27(2) and 35(1)(a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the Act). The Commissioner decided that the information was exempt under section 27 and that the public interest test in maintaining the exemption outweighed the public interest in disclosure.
