Decision Summary

  • Case Ref: FS50094496
  • Date: 03/07/2008
  • Public Authority: Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs
  • Summary: The complainant requested information about a drug used in the prevention of dietary-induced laminitis in horses. Defra withheld the information, citing the exemption in section 43 of the Act. The Commissioner found that the exemption in section 43(1) was not applicable. However, he found that the exemption in section 43(2) was engaged but the public interest in maintaining the exemption did not outweigh the public interest in disclosing the information and the information should therefore be released.
