Background

  • The most recent consultation on the Freedom of Information Act was run by the Ministry of Justice towards the end of 2007. It has yet to be published, the current ETA is currently "summer 2009" [1].

  • Status: Closed - awaiting response
  • Open date: 25 October 2007
  • Close date: 01 February 2008
  • The aim of the consultation document is to seek views as to whether the Government should look to use the powers under Section 5 of the Freedom of Information Act and extend the coverage of the Act and if so, which organisations it should consider.
