Part 2 of Commons Act 2006 provides for the creation of commons councils for managing particular pieces of common land. These appear to be quasi-governmental organisations, but not to be public authorities under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Two have been created:

Dartmoor Commomers’ Council

The Dartmoor Commoners’ Council was established by the Dartmoor Commons Act 1985 and serves the same purpose for commons on Dartmoor that commons councils do for commons elsewhere.
